LBQ hires new trombonist!       Brandon Rivera became the newest member of the Lyric Brass Quintet after winning the audition to replace long-time LBQ trombonist Stan Wilkerson when Stan moved to Florida to become a full time Director of Music at the Tampa Bay United Methodist Church. Brandon has performed as a substitute with LBQ for years, and has fit easily into the ensemble.       Brandon has earned degrees from the Peabody Conservatory, and is on the Faculty of the Peabody Preparatory Division. LBQ adds new concert to its repertoire       The Lyric Brass Quintet adds The Art of Darkness to its repertoire of recital offerings. This program presents original works for brass as well as transcriptions of other works written in response to abject sorrow and despair. From Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus to David Sampson's Morning Music, this music shows the resilience of the human spirit and we respond to tragedy with art, brutality with beauty, and horror with harmony. Music helps heal the human spirit. Hear music torn from the tragedy of 9/11, the death of loved ones, each introduced by the story of it's creation, and performed with the artistry of the Lyric Brass Quintet.
