Young Artist Competition Saturday, February 9th, 2002 Levine Hall, Western Maryland College Westminster, Maryland Young local artists vie for a chance to appear as a soloist with the orchestra. Judged by a guest panel of professional artists, students are selected based on musicality, technical command, and burgeoning artistry. Young Artist Recital Sunday, April 7th, 2002, 2:00 p.m. Great Hall, Carroll Community College Westminster, Maryland Selected in a tape round, the young artists presented here vie for the Encore Award for Artistic Excellence and a chance to appear with the orchestra on the Gala Spring Concert. Two winners, one in each age division, will be selected during the recital by an expert panel of guest judges. Come hear a splendid showcase of local young talent! Gala Spring Concert Sunday, May 12th, 2002, 3:00 p.m. Location to be announced. This concert will feature performances by the Young Artist Award winners with orchestral acompaniment, as well as some of the most exciting music to be found in your community!
